TRISTON ANTOINE


Triston Antoine is an emerging artist and designer based in the United States. Often working across multiple disciplines, his work is rooted in the synthesis and communication of new and innovative ideas involving the nature of humanity and the many ways that the ever-changing world is taking our species to exciting new directions. Triston holds a BFA with a focus on Interdisciplinary Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Portland Public Schools, September 2019 - September 2020.
Volunteered one year of service to help Portland Public Schools communicate with recently admitted asylum seekers speaking over 65 languages by designing posters, booklets, promotional, and website materials.  Photographed, filmed, and edited interviews and b-rolls from community outreach events.  Copywriter for the district website, social media posts, posters, and news articles for print media.  Crafted a multimedia campaign to generate public interest and successfully increase student-choice enrollment in Deering High School, which was facing low enrollment.

Program Coordinator, Visiting Artists Program, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, February 2019 - September 2019.
Facilitated the question and answer portion of public talks and short-forum graduate student discussions with older and established artists.  Researched relevant artists for future talks that were working within contemporary frameworks relevant to burgeoning art thought by the students at The School of the Art Institute, artists throughout the city of Chicago, and the general art world.  Managed artist files and travel itinerary.  Edited the footage from the each talk, edited the transcriptions, and posted the final video to the archival website per artist’s permission.  Social media copywriter. 

Assistant to Assistant Director, School Partnerships, Art Institute of Chicago, August 2018 - February 2019. Organized educational materials for TEAM, a docent tour and museum bridge program for Chicago Public School elementary students.

Travelled to high schools within the City of Chicago to represent the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and provide individualized advice towards the admissions process.

Assistant to Vice President, Enrollment Management, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, May 2018 - August 2018.
Performed calendar management, administrative support, and clerical work for the Vice President.  Collaborated with executive team to devise a strategy to reach underserved students of color and provide intentional support throughout the duration of their enrollment. Created a data system to track departmental expenses and reconcile a multi-million dollar departmental budget. 

Fashion Instructional Facilities Assistant, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, January 2016 - January 2018.
Trained students and faculty on proper use of industrial sewing and pressing equipment and performed regular maintenance on the machines for daily use.

Orientation Leader, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, September 2015 - September 2017.  
Co-led a group of 30 transfer students in a week of specialized group activities within the School of the Art Institute and around the City of Chicago to introduce students to all of the resources at their disposal.  Participated in public talks regarding “The Critique Process” to 300 students about the care, etiquette, benefits and rigor involved with the artist’s critique.

Woodshop and Digital Lab Assistant, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, February 2015 - February 2016.  
Worked within a fully stocked instructional woodshop, digital lab, and sculpture lab to aid and guide first-year art students with their projects.  

Gallery Assistant, Siragusa Gallery, January 2015 - May 2015. Co-curated a public exhibition of artwork by 8 emerging artists with additional public programming and a night of live art performances.
